Drishyam Series: Where to Watch All Movies in Order
With Drishyam 3 now streaming, a lot of viewers are asking the same two questions: what order do I watch the Drishyam films in, and where can I actually find them? There’s an added twist for Telugu audiences — the Drushyam remakes with Venkatesh are separate films on separate platforms. Here’s the complete, no-confusion guide.
The quick answer
Watch them in release order, which is also the story order:
- Drishyam (2013)
- Drishyam 2 (2021)
- Drishyam 3 (2026)
All three Malayalam originals (with Mohanlal) stream on Amazon Prime Video — so the simplest path is to watch the whole trilogy in one place.
The Drishyam trilogy in order (Malayalam originals)
1. Drishyam (2013)
The one that started it all. Georgekutty (Mohanlal), a cable-TV operator in a small Kerala town, lives a contented life with his wife and two daughters — until the family is caught up in the death of a young man, and the investigating officer turns out to be the victim’s mother, a senior police official. A movie-buff with no formal education, Georgekutty uses sheer cunning to shield his family. A landmark thriller that was remade across Indian cinema. Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video.
2. Drishyam 2 (2021)
Set years later, when the long-buried case quietly resurfaces and new pressure threatens everything Georgekutty did to protect his family. Widely praised as a rare sequel that matches the original. Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video.
3. Drishyam 3 (2026)
The final chapter. Several years on, Georgekutty has turned his story into a successful film — until journalists start probing the real events that inspired it. Heavier and more reflective than the earlier films, it closes the saga. Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video (from 18 June 2026). (See our full [Drishyam 3 where-to-watch guide] — link it here.)
For Telugu viewers: originals vs the Venkatesh remakes
This is where people get confused, so let’s be clear. There are two different ways to watch Drishyam in Telugu:
Option A — the Malayalam originals, in Telugu: all three Mohanlal films are on Prime Video with Telugu language options. This is the only way to get the complete trilogy, since the third part exists only as the Malayalam original so far.
Option B — the Telugu remakes with Venkatesh (Drushyam), which are separate films, both directed by Jeethu Joseph:
- Drushyam (2014) — Venkatesh as Rambabu — streams on Sun NXT.
- Drushyam 2 (2021) — Venkatesh — streams on Amazon Prime Video.
- A Telugu remake of the third part has not released yet, so for now the Venkatesh series only covers parts 1 and 2.
So if you want all three, go with the Malayalam originals on Prime. If you prefer Venkatesh’s Telugu versions, you can watch the first two — Drushyam on Sun NXT and Drushyam 2 on Prime — and then switch to the Malayalam Drishyam 3 for the finale.
What about the Hindi and Tamil versions?
Drishyam was one of the most-remade Indian films ever. Beyond Telugu, there are the Hindi remakes with Ajay Devgn (Drishyam and Drishyam 2) and the Tamil version Papanasam with Kamal Haasan. These are separate films — faithful to the originals but with their own casts — so pick whichever language you prefer for parts 1 and 2.
Which version should you watch?
If you’re starting fresh and want the whole story, the Malayalam originals on Prime Video are the definitive choice — they’re the source, Mohanlal’s Georgekutty is iconic, and it’s the only complete trilogy. If you’d rather watch in Telugu, Venkatesh’s Drushyam films are well-regarded, faithful remakes for the first two parts. Either way, watch in order — each film leans heavily on what came before.
